Yes and so many artists! I think anyone can learn to be a model horse artist if they are given the right resources and help they need then they can love their models even more! And if they can contribute to their show entries they will be able to have nicer entries without having to spend more money plus they can feel a bigger sense of achievement when they show their entries!
You are so right. I feel way better when I win with my own resins or tack! Especially at NAN
This is one of my resins - Fluido - at NAN and in performance at a qualifier (I didn't make this tack however - haven't figured out the English saddles yet)
I agree . my last show apart from the few plastics I only took ponies I had painted my self ... was so fun and super exciting to see them placing and getting ribbons.
Same here, I never really get the OF-showing part and I'm hardly interested in it, but I can see that it's fun for people who don't have the time or motivation to make their own tack or paint their own horses.
And I'm kinda glad that there are many people who do want to buy tack, cause I like selling it ^^

my mother and I both agree with you on the OF showing side of things it seems somewhat sad that OF showing is where new hobbyists start as that is the least exciting part of the hobby! there are so many exciting things to do with a model horse that you can do yourself we must take our fun side of the hobby to all the new people and draw them into the hobby! lol
Hello all! I am a model horse customizer, but I love to look at everyone's beautiful tack! I love all kinds of model horses, I collect mostly OF's and customs and occasionally artist resins. I have mostly traditionals and some stablemate scale horses as well. I love live showing, it's so exciting and can be very rewarding. Will post pictures of my work soon!
I am the other half of Solstice Sky Studio. I love all model horses but mainly collect Breyer, Peter Stone and hopefully soon will have my first Copperfox, which i am looking forward to expanding more of.
I got into collecting models when I first attended UHH 2011. I was impressed at what I saw there and came away with lots of ideas, to which I joined up with Vkky at Solstice Sky Studio. We both make tack though Vkky does the leather work and I look after my "Snugsy Bags" and Rugs. I have also added metal etched hardware which are for sale to those that make tack. Halter Slots..... Buckles.....T-Buckles/Surcingle Clasps in Nickel Silver and Gold. If you cant wait for pics and prices they can be found on face book at :- www.facebook.com/solsticeskystudio
I also paint "Thelwell" pieces ... have only lately been given permiossion from Thelwell Estates to paint these if anyone is interested in a piece please shout and i will post some pics when i get to paint them lol there is one as my avatar i painted for a friend at christmas.
I am hoping to get some nice fresh pics over next few weeks of "Snugsy Bags" and Rugs If anyone has any questions please fire away at me I might not be able to answer all but i will give it a try. Many Thanks for inviting me to the forum and now I go to my bed as 9 am comes round very quickly. hope to catch you all soon jan

Hello! My name is Kaitlin and I'm from New York state,USA. I'm interested in sculpting, CMing, and painting. I've made a few saddles, but they are very rough XD I'm mostly interested in English and fantasy tack or historical tack. I would love to attend live shows or do photo showing, but time constraints are preventing me at the moment. Looking forward to learning more and getting better at any aspect of art here =)
