Here is where everyone can post a short little post about themselves! We all hate it but it's a great for everyone else to read and you can win a Rope Halter !
A quick guide on what to and what not to include in your introduction post!
First off you will want to include your name and what parts of the hobby you are most interested in. What types of models do you collect? DO you make tack, props or customize horses? Maybe mention if you are interested in showing at live shows or photo shows as well!
You could include your favorite models , a few pictures of your work or collection and list other interests you have that others might share.
Make sure not to list too much personal information as with all posts on the internet but sharing the country you come from can help with finding local collectors and shows which is always fun!
Make sure to post your Intro and we look forward to hearing about your collection and crafts!
Hello there everyone ^_^ My name is Stanislava, from Bulgaria and I am a modelaholic.... Now on a more serious note.. well yeah, still modelaholic, lol. I am mostly interested in Arabian tack making, costumes, presentation sets, halters... What type of models do i collect? Anything that grabs my eyes - resins, plastic ones, rubber ones. Mostly interested in Stablemate and Curio scales lately as I find them more affordable. Plus theres so much detail in such a small scale. As I have mentioned already, I make Arabian horse tack, sometimes make the occasional rope halter or a bitless bridle. I adore customizing - painting mostly. And mostly pastelling! Live shows are a mirage for me but definitely interesting in photo showing! Pictures will have to wait a bit as I currently have no up to date ones, but soon! I am looking forward to meeting you all soon!!
Hi - I am Lisa Sharpe from Toronto Canada. I make my own western (and some other) tack. I sculpt but don't paint generally. I show quite a bit but prefer to judge. It I could figure out how to add a pic here I would :-)
Hello! I'm Rebecca from Ontario. I have a small collection that includes mostly traditional scale models including OF Breyers, Peter Stones, and resins. I recently came back from a four-year hiatus from the hobby. I've never entered a live or photo show before but I am interested in learning more about showing performance and dropping in at Toronto Live this year to see how it's done. I am practicing making tack and hope someday to make LSQ pieces, both english and western. I'm always interested in learning new skills in tackmaking and discussing methods!
I'm Liz, and I'm from Minnesota. I've been collecting model horses since I was about 11 (so for about half my life). However, I am only recently really getting into the hobby as a hobby. I'm pretty much interested in all aspects of the hobby. Live showing, tack making, prop making, customizing, painting, photography (not photo showing [at least not yet])
I've been collecting Breyers the whole time, and have acquired a few Stones along the way. I'm currently starting to collect Stones a little more, particularly the ISH. I currently have 2, with a 3rd on the way. (One of them happens to also be my first DAH.) I also recently got my first AR, a Trailblazer. The majority of my collection is currently OF. I conga ISH, Zippo Pine Bar, Nokota, Midnight Tango (waiting on one more OF, then I'll have all the OFs!)
I've been working on making my own tack, western and English, including some "nylon" western bridle and breastcollar sets (like the ones you see a lot in gaming). I've also been working on some props. But, mostly lately, I've been working on some customizing. I have a basically overflowing body box, and plans for quite a few models. I've been working on some models with pastels, and some others with airbrushed acrylics. I have one experimental one that I've re-positioned slightly, and I have another that I want to re-position even more.
I've shown at a small, non-NAN qualifying Live Show, and I'm really excited to hopefully get to a NAN qualifying show or two in the not so distant future.
This is a barrel racing set that I made with a modified Rio Rondo tree, and RLDC hackamore, with a "nylon" headstall and breastcollar, and braided colored knotted cotton reins. The saddle is two-toned leather, and has an artificial sinew wrapped horn and stirrups, and is stamped with stars. The pad is a thick felt topped with flannel and black wear leathers. I'm super proud of this set, but I know so many ways my next one can be improved.
Here's another set I made, in action at my last show, and winning a blue ribbon in the Western Speed Events class. This is more of a western pleasure set, with the saddle decked out with silver plates. This is also stamped with stars, but they are approximately in the constellation Aries on this one. This is on a Rio Rondo tree, and has the Rio Rondo "Stars and Diamonds" silver plates. The bit is also Rio Rondo. The bridle is a simple one ear, with silver beads and a working tongue buckle. The saddle pad is simple felt. This set-up (Jumping Figure 8) actually beat the set I posted above (with a barrel, as a barrel racing entry). I was super proud of these girls for sweeping the class as 1st and 2nd.
I feel like this post kind of got away from me... I'm sorry. I'm just really excited about this forum.
Anyways, (shameless plug) my Instagram is wingsofahorse_studios Check it out? Thanks for reading all my rambling (if you actually did)

Hey Rebecca. I am running the Toronto Live show :-) Why not show in a few classes? There are a lot of new showers
Hi Lisa! I actually sent you a facebook message about a month back about signing up but it must have gone to your other folder. I am still interested in showing if you have room!
Hi. I'm Esther from Maine. I collect mainly traditional Breyer and I try to make my own tack...I am joining this board in hopes that there will be hints and tips on how to improve my tack making...I getting o.k. with western, but am getting frustrated with my english saddles--those still need help! I do photo show; I would like to try a live show, but am not into travelling very far, so have so far stuck with photo shows.

Hey, Esther! You've joined the right forum. English saddles are very complicated to make, just because of all of the subtle details. Several of us on here make them and will definitely post tips and how-to's in the English tack section :-)
hey everyone , Im Lynette from New Zealand , I paint and customize, and love tack altho don't make it my self ... my collection consists of mostly traditional scale models plastic and resins, with a few little ones as well..

Awesome to hear about so many of you already! We will soon post a tutorial on how to attach images to your posts in the forum so you can ALL share your amazing images!
My interests in the hobby lie mostly in making tack, it really is a way for me to relax and satisfy my need for making art! I make all kinds of tack: english, harness, portuguese(!), western, I can make pretty much everything as long as it's from leather (so no arabian costumes, haha). Also I think customizing is really cool, but even though I've made some myself, this is not where my heart lies and I'm also not very quick at it (I think my customs do look pretty good, but they just take so long to make!!! lol).
I collect mostly resins at the moment, but pretty customs and OF's are also welcome. My collection is still mostly OF, but slowly the resins are taking over... Very slowly.
I LOVE live showing, but here in the Netherlands we haven't had a show since 2012 I think, so that's not going great. It seems like we'll have one or two shows this year though, so that would be great. Also I'm planning to attend Utterly Horses Hullabaloo this year, if I can afford the trip.
A few pics of my most recent work (if I can find out how to post pics):
