O.K. Here's my challenge. I'm loading it now as I'm headed off in a bit for four days with no internet.
I decided to challenge myself by making a full parade set. I've made parade sets in the past but this one was more of a challenge as it was to fit the Stone Palouse (it's a bit tricky to fit because of it's conformation), I wanted to replicate a photo of a real set as close as possible, I needed to finish in the time frame allowed in the challenge and I wanted to create a rider to compliment the set.
First I found the photo of the real set. Then I started cutting pieces, dying and tooling. After the basic set was put together I decorated it with silver. I decided to change up the horsehead decorations a bit to gold horse heads on silver conchos to make them more visable. The set came together pretty well with only a few glitches with fit which I worked out. Then I redressed and rehaired the rider. The clothes and boots were cut and sewn by hand and all the original hair was removed and replaced with mohair.
