Whilst this should have been obvious to me I still managed to assume both these guys were walking .. now I can't see how I could have ever thought that!
After seeing that I now have to rethink all the entries I had floating around my head and re-evaluate. This is one of those times where real horses and models can really differ , the models have been altered to have to fit their purpose as models and therefore no longer mimic real horses as realistically as they could have. Does this alteration require consideration when judging the horses gait for performance classes? clearly if we ignore the fact the models position is an altered representation of a real horse we shouldn't penalize the fact the "model" is in fact lacking impulsion in the trot and dragging it's feet .. but looking at it clearly that is what we are seeing.
I think this kind of small difference would likely be more of an issue in OF only performance classes as there are plenty of customs and resins that are in the same phase of trot that are correct to life but if allowances are made for alterations such as these what other practicality based alterations made to model horses should we think more about?
Thoughts everyone? Also how do you show your own PS Ponies and TBs ?

For me, both of them are trotting, I consider my TB in a relaxed trot at the beginning of the legs movement. And my pony is on a good trot but not on the bit, like we can see in beginner dressage tests

I think there are quite a few other models that have hard to read gaits/positions these days as well can make planning a performance entry a little tricky!

Looking at the position of the legs, I know in my head that it's trotting, but I cant help thinking that the PS pony should be walking. It just doesn't look like it's moving fast enough for a trot. The TB I see as doing a more prancey, excited trot but being held back a bit.
The PS TB always reminds me of a young stallion being lead around before his race, his handler has a firm hold of his head but he is still pracing along not really troting, not really walking....
