Calling all who take photos of their horses indoors!
How do you manage your lighting, particularly if you use glossy photo paper backgrounds? If you use the marbled type fabric (best description I can come up with!), where did you purchase it?
Personally, I love the 'studio' type photos with the plain white paper backdrop for random photos, studio photos etcetera, but for photo shows and my model horse website I love to take more realistic shots with a grass mat, photo background and added details.
This is the perfect thread to share your secrets, post your concerns and ask your questions about model horse photography!

I have a roll of grass used for model trains, a canvas that I painted, and moss to create interest. I use two old lights that were used for reptiles and another desk lamp to get enough light. When I do performance shots I usually add an appropriate fence to the mix. This picture turned out a bit darker than I like but here is the final product:

That looks really good I am hoping to set up a little photography area soon hopefully on the mostly unused side of my desk so I can just flick the lights on and take reasonable sales photos, better quality sales pics and then also set up backgrounds and such for when I start photo showing

Where do you get your backgrounds, if you don’t mind me asking?
