Oooo, I love seeing other peoples' work spaces! I think it's fun to see where other people make their neat stuff.
Inspired by Char's tour of her space (so cool!) I decided to do a bit of tour around mine. Here are a handful of pictures of my MESS... er, work space. (this is my first time trying to put pictures up on here, I hope it works!)
I have an entire spare bedroom that is my Studio. It is often in a state of upheaval as I come up with better ways to organize things and end up moving everything around - again... and again. It's in that state now, since I recently bought two 10 drawer carts to replace an old computer cart I had under the window for extra storage. As a result there are random things piled and stuffed everywhere at the moment as I try to reorganize - again. Here's how some of the room looks today...
My desk, with a Rio Rondo saddle kit in progress, along with a bunch of in progress painted minis (up top) and a trad running foal awaiting some details:
The shelves to the left of my desk, I love the plastic drawers and pencil cases. After much trail and error, I set these shelves up just so to fit in all of the drawers and pencil cases, plus I set up the skinny shelves for in progress mini customs and packs of paper for card making:
The larger drawers have some model horse stuff in them, such as customs in progress:
The rest of the drawers have mostly other misc. craft stuff, like papers, scraps and so on for making greeting cards. Also jewelry making bits, etc., etc...
For now, most of my tack making stuff is in the red pencil cases on the top shelf and I keep most of my leather in the new drawers under the window. I think eventually I will have to designate more space to tack making, since I have plans to greatly expand that part of my hobby involvement!
One thing on the shelves that I randomly set up one day, but has really come in handy, is my "mini photo shoot area". (with an in progress custom/hairing job currently hanging out there):
The view out the window today, with a fresh layer of snow to see:
I have shelves on either side of the window that hold a lot of my OF minis:
In the shelves on the other side of the room, I have a bunch of my larger OFs, my dinosaur collection, red fox collection, and... horse/craft reference books and binders:
Finally, I present a few of my "must haves" for hanging out in my studio and making stuff...
Candy (this is one of my favorite kinds and I usually have a couple of different flavors on hand to have a few when my sweet tooth acts up):
Candles (I am always burning candles while I work):
Music (again, I always listen to music while I work):
I hope you enjoyed a look around my creative space. Though it is a mess in there far more often than not, it is my happy place and I always smile as soon as I walk through the door.
