What leather do you guys like working with best or think is best for small scale work?
I use vegetable tanned kid skin for all my tooling and thicker leather needs.
A variety of garment leathers for all my soft leather needs these include chrome tanned kid, sheep and cow hides along with a few odd thin kangaroo hides.
When I need patent leather I go for glossed pig skin which has worked well for me so far!
All the leather lace I use is kangaroo and I work with 1/8 (3mm and 1/4(6mm) widths
